So start off your dance journey with something smooth on a kizomba or urban kiz floor, brake it off with a bachata or two, then change the rhythm with some nice salsa. Or the other way around. Or stay on just one floor. Or don't! There are plenty of options for everyone, and your task is just to be prepared for a lot of dancing (and bringing a pair of dancing shoes of course).
Dancing your shoes off is not an option, it's an imperative!
